OKADA, Kanzo / Professor

I am interested in applying the methods of mathematical sciences to various phenomena characterized by nonlinearity and non-locality. I think nonlocal continuum mechanics is one such innovation enabler because it is capable of describing physical behaviors even at the atomic scale and it can also be made much more amenable to engineering designs and analyses than its microscopic counterparts like quantum mechanics. I am also interested in building mathematical models suitable for treating relevant industrial or social systems involving nonlinearity and non-locality, which can either form bases for future technologies or innovate new methods in data-driven information systems.
