Equilibrium fluctuation and spectral gap for a chain of anharmonic oscillators

Abstract:
In this talk, we consider a one dimensional chain of anharmonic oscillators. The microscopic time evolution is given by a system of Hamilton equations perturbed by noises preserving the total energy as well as the total momentum. We discuss its equilibrium fluctuation under hyperbolic space-time scale (εx,εt), and also present an estimate on the spectral gap corresponding to the random part which is useful for further discussion.(A joint work with S.
