講演タイトル  :  現代のロゼッタストーンと数学

講演要旨：
AIが世の中を席巻しているかのような今日である。とはいえ、現在のAIは、いわば機械学習（深層学習）に依拠するものである。それは、おおよそパターン処理に限られている。しかも、判断・決定の説明を伴わないブラックボックス問題や無意識下のバイアス問題などは深刻な社会問題を呈している。また、医療における利用や機械翻訳等への過期待など、夢は広がり関心も高いながら手放しとはいえない課題が多くある。わからないことが適度にあることは楽しい。しかしそうも言っていられない状況である。本講演では、AIに限らず、数学と社会をつなぐ象徴的な事例や先人たちの言葉を紹介しながら、今後の数学の発展と社会との関わりを考える機会としたい。

Title :
"Modern Rosetta Stones and Mathematics"

Abstract :
Today, it seems as if AI is sweeping the world. However, current AI relies on machine learning (deep learning), so to speak. It can be said roughly limited to pattern processing. Moreover, the black box problem and the unconscious bias problem that do not involve explanations of judgments and decisions present serious social problems. In addition, there are many issues that cannot be parted with, such as over-expectations for medical use and machine translation, although dreams are widespread and interest is high. It's fun to have a moderate amount of problems we don't understand. However, it is a situation that cannot be said so. In this talk, I would like to give an opportunity to think about the future development of mathematics and its relationship with society, while introducing symbolic examples that connect mathematics and society and the words of our predecessors, not limited to AI.
