講演タイトル  :  数理研究者のための知財入門

講演要旨：
大学発の発明の例として、典型的には材料やデバイスまたはそれらの製造方法があり、またシミュレーションなどの単純方法（非製造方法）やコンピュータプログラムなどの発明もあります。別の知的財産の例として、コンピュータプログラムの著作権があります。数理分野においては、知財に関して留意すべき点もあります。たとえば、数式やアルゴリズム自体は（特許法上の）発明ではありませんが、数式またはアルゴリズムが実装されたプログラムは発明として特許可能かもしれません。また研究活動において、知的財産権の取得や行使が必要とは限らない場合もあるかもしれません。
本コロキウムでは、事前の知識を前提とせず、知的財産の基礎的入門および関連するトピック（数学の研究者が関わる可能性があること）について説明します。
時間があれば、大学の技術移転活動について概説します。

Title :
Introduction to intellectual property for mathematicians

Abstract :
Typical examples of patentable inventions are materials or devices, or their manufacturing methods. Inventions of computer simulation (non-manufacturing methods) or computer programs may be patentable too. Another examples of intellectual property are copyrights of, for example, computer programs. Mathematical researchers sometimes should be careful about obtaining/utilizing patent rights. For example, mathematical formula or algorithm itself is not patentable (according to Japanese patent law), however, a computer program, in which such a formula or algorithm is implemented, may be patentable.
In this colloquium, without requiring prior knowledge, basics of intellectual property and related topics (that mathematical researchers might be involved in) will be introduced.
Technology transfer activities of universities will be outlined, if we have time.
