The space of long embeddings of $¥R^j$ into $¥R^n$ (and related spaces) has a homotopy type of a $j$-fold (or $j+1$-fold) loop space when $n-j>2$. The speaker had described the delooping in terms of topological Stiefel manifolds. In this talk we will overview the delooping and see how it relates to Haefliger-Milgram classification of embeddings of high dimensional spheres.
