The so-called Drinfeld quasi-modular forms are natural
analogues of classical quasi-modular forms, over function fields of
positive characteristic. In this talk we will introduce a class of
deformations of Drinfeld quasi-modular forms which have
themselves certain automorphic properties. As an application
of the theory of these deformations, we will describe some
families of ``extremal" Drinfeld quasi-modular forms and make some
prediction on their general structure.
