The celebrated Rankin-Cohen brackets can be interpreted as intertwining operators between different unitary representations of the Lie group SL(2,R). We present their analogue arising in the setting of breaking symmetries for six different complex geometries and explain in a systematic way why such differential operators are related to Jacobi polynomials in one variable.
