概要：
Several metrics on the moduli space of curves are studied for
a long time, e.g. the Teichmueller metric and the Weil-Petersson
metric. Recently, many new metrics are introduced to study the
geometry of the moduli space by many persons. In this talk,
we review the background and new results of the metric geometry.
