概要
The physics of real fluids is notoriously complex. Many models have been worked out to predict realistic flows. In particular, Maxwell's elastic model has inspired many subsequent works, to capture more and more physics and to compute numerical illustrations. But we think not everything has been said yet about Maxwell's model.
In this talk, we will present new formulations of Maxwell's model, along with numerical illustrations, in the 2D shallow-water setting proposed by Saint-Venant for thin free-surface flows. This is motivated by some applications to real fluids for hydraulic engineering.
For the numerical solutions (to hyperbolic quasilinear system of PDE), we have used an entropy-consistent finite-volume method. This will also be carefully discussed if time permits.
