We consider a Cauchy problem for the generalized Burgers equation with nonlinear viscosity, in particular, of quasi-plastic fluid type. Under a condition on the nonlinearity, we show the global asymptotic stability of constant states by a technical energy method. This is a joint work with Natsumi Yoshida
