I study tropical geometry. It is an algebraic geometry over the
semifield called tropical semifield (or more generally, additively
idempotent semirings) and there is no concrete algebraic foundation. A
big obstruction is that semifields or semirings may have no subtraction.
This does not ensure a duality between algebra and geometry. I am trying
to solve this problem with geometry and the classical algebro-geometric
methods. For the time being, I want to make a tropical analogue of
scheme theory.
