Title: The trace formula in and outside the Langlands program
Abstract:
This is an introduction to the trace formula from its beginnings as a generalization of the Poisson sum formula to applications in spectral geometry and the Langlands program. I shall present a derived Lefschetz formula and simple versions. Applications are given in terms of Prime Geodesic Theorems and trace formula comparisons.
