The IMI Colloquium in November 2018 | Date : Wednesday, 14 November 2018 16:45-17:45 | Place : IMI Auditorium (W1-D-413) (4F, West Zone 1, Kyushu University) | | | Speaker : Mr. Masahiko MURAKAMI(Security Research Laboratory, Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd.) | Title : | Case study on mathematics in cyber physical systems | | Abstract : With the development of IoT technology, CPS (cyber physical systems) that integrate cyberspace and real world are rapidly spreading. In addition to introducing Fujitsu Laboratory's past efforts on this cyber physical system, we will discuss mathematical problems and its pleasure in this effort. | | | | Speaker : Mr. Jumpei YAMAGUCHI (FUJITSU LABORATORIES LTD.) | Title : | Utilizations of Mathematics at Fujitsu Laboratories | | Abstract : I will introduce the utilization of mathematics in the research which I have worked at Security Research Laboratories, Fujitsu Laboratories for about half a year after graduation from Kyushu University. Specifically, I will introduce two biometric template protection technologies and attacks against these. Biometrics is an authentication of users by using their physiological features such as fingerprint, face, and palm vein or behavioral ones such as voiceprint and gait. Template protection is biometrics which register/verify in keeping biometric features encrypted. Compared with the password/possession authentication, biometrics does not require users to remember complex passwords or have ID card, and hence, it is expanding. | | | IMI Colloquium Report |
