Distinctive Programs
Kyushu University Leading PhD Program in Mathematics for Key Technologies is designed to educate doctors in mathematics, referred to as "Mathematics Navigators", who will lead research teams with strong leadership based on modern mathematics in our global society.
The education-and-research Ph.D. program in our Graduate School of Mathematics attempted to establish mathematical foundation for future technology in industry, and was adopted as a Global COE (Center of Excellence) Program (completed in FY 2012).
"Training Program for Ph.D. and New Master's in Mathematics for Industry" (FY 2007 - FY 2009), a master course educational program in our Graduate School of Mathematics, was adopted as a "GP" (Good Practice) for Graduate Schools, which was a program for educational reform in graduate schools supported by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan.
The Mathematical Research Center for Industrial Technology (MRIT), Kyushu University (closed in FY 2010), activated collaboration and joint researches between industry and mathematics, and promoted fostering mathematical scientists for industrial technology and exchanging human resources between academia and industry.
