Abstract:
Recently vertex algebras have appeared in various subjects of mathematics and physics. I will introduce a family of such vertex algebras that seemingly appears all over the place, i.e. in knot invariants, gauge theory, the geometric Langlands correspondence and maybe others. For this I aim to start with an overview of the relation between 4-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theory, quantum geometric Langlands and vertex algebras. Then I will explain how these "boundary" vertex algebras appear as a classical limit and then I want to explain that these appear also in different context.
