Abstract:
The talk consists in showing how to generate in the setting of some compact extensions of nilpotent Lie groups, some analogues of M\"untz-Szasz’s theorem proved way back in 1914 for L^2([0,1]). This requires the introduction of the notion of real Muentz-Szasz's sequences and their generalized powers and allows to establish some analogues for L^2_c(R^n) and C_c(R^n). The representation theory plays an important role in the proofs.
