Abstract: The Kirchhoff elastic rod is a mathematical model of thin elastic rods, and its shape is known to be described by Jacobi's elliptic functions.
In this talk, we show that the discrete Kirchhoff elastic rod defined by Bobenko and Suris in 1999 can be explicitly constructed by elliptic theta functions.
This is a joint work with Satoshi Kawakubo (University of Hyogo).
