Immersed surfaces in R^2×S^1 whose projection to the circle has exactly one critical point

Abstract: We consider composite maps of immersions from closed surfaces into R^2×S^1 and projections from there to S^1. Then, a number of critical points which this composite map with depends on the immersion.In this lecture, we characterize closed surfaces which have immersions with exactly one critical point.
