Abstract:
The Ford domain of a cusped hyperbolic manifold is the dual of the canonical decomposition in the sence of Epstein-Penner when the volume is finite, and of a subcomplex of the EPH-decomposition, a generalization of canonical decomposition, when the volume is infinite. We define the extended Ford domain by using the natural embedding of the hyperbolic space into the real projective space, and see its basic properties. We also observe the extended Ford domains for rational pleating varieties of quasifuchsian punctured torus groups.
