YAMANA, Shunsuke / Assistant Professor

My research is in the area of automorphic forms and representation
theory. An important practice in number theory is to encode part of
the information contained in an arithmetic object in form of an
analytic L-function. As is well-known, the Prime Number Theorem and
Dirichlet's theorem on primes in arithmetic progressions were proved
by analyzing the Riemann zeta function and the Dirichlet L-fucntions,
respectively. It is believed that many number theoretically important
L-functions are automorphic L-functions. Recently, I am developing the
theory of automorphic L-functions and studying their special values.
