Staff Introduction

I have studied operator algebras, a branch of functional analysis. Especially, I studied quantum group actions on operator algebras, subfactors and the operator algebraic analog of amalgamated free product construction in group theory, all of which were done under the influence of free probability theory initiated by Voiculescu in the early 80's. Recently, I am studying free entropy, the free probabilistic analog of entropy, in connection with random matrices, the operator algebraic analog of HNN extensions of discrete groups, and topics in ergodic actions of non-amenable groups and their relations to operator algebras.
