KABATA, Yutaro / Assistant Professor

My research area is singularity theory of mapping and its application. Since the implicit function theorem does not hold around a singularity, the behavior of a mapping around it is very complicated and attractive. Especially, I am investigating geometric characterizations of classifications of singularities of mappings and the applications to several geometrical settings (mainly local theory of surface). Singularity of mapping is a naive object which appears in various settings. I am also interested in singularities  arising in other fields such as vision theory, robotics, multi-objective optimization.
